The Parker Career Center needed to convert their 150-page career binder into a digital e-book.

The binder is distributed to hundreds of the school's new MBA students every year and provides a valuable resource on the career search process, sample job materials, and more — but the cost of printing and the effort it took to distribute the physical binders made it unsustainable.

The process:

The binder itself was a collection of plain, black and white documents lined with rote information. This gave me the opportunity to truly bring it to life with photography and color.

Working with the Communications Manager, I delved into the Anderson style guide and developed a visual template for the e-book that was consistent with the school's branding and other materials.

The entire 3-month process became a natural rhythm of submit, review, and revise. I maintained constant communication throughout to ensure we achieved our vision for the e-book.

The deliverable:

The final e-book was organized into 4 distinct sections, each with its own linked table of contents and fully interactive elements including fillable worksheets, checklists, and video embeds. Students could choose to view the e-book on their computers or mobile devices.

In all, the e-book saved the department $12,000 per year on printing expenses and provided materials that hundreds of MBA students will be utilizing for years to come.
